Leena Palomo DDS MSD, associate professor & director of DMD periodontics at Case Western Reserve University, is a board certified periodontist. Dr. Palomo has published over 75 articles and presentations.She engages auditoriums and classrooms explaining periodontal disease risks, surgical outcomes and diagnostic imaging highlighting older women.Leena not only takes part in researching this interrelationship, she also seeks to further engage both the scientific and patient communities.As such, she has presented her research findings to audiences of physicians and nurses as well as dentists.To further engage students in research activity, Dr. Palomo mentors dental students and graduate medical and dental residents.Her students have gone on to earn university, national and international recognition under her guidance.She serves the American Academy of Periodontology as the past chair of the Education Committee and the current chair of the Predoctoral Program Directors Organization.She serves the American Board of Periodontology as a board examiner.
